If you have a Bachelor's degree, and you are seeking employment as a teacher, consider these opportunities:
The New York City Teaching Fellows program is preparing a critical mass of exceptional teachers committed to a better future for the NYC students who need them most.
Our teachers go where they are needed the most - they teach in urban neighborhoods, where too many children have fallen behind and are struggling to catch up. They understand the challenges of growing up in a low-income community, and work tirelessly to provide their students with the educational opportunities available to students from wealthier backgrounds.
Fellows come from a range of personal and professional backgrounds. Whatever their background, they believe that every student can achieve at a high-level and will do whatever it takes to help them get there.
The mission of the NYC Teaching Collaborative is to recruit and prepare talented, committed individuals to become effective teachers who dedicate themselves to raising student achievement and effecting change in New York City's highest-need schools.
Every student in New York City deserves an excellent teacher. Many schools in our highest need communities still struggle to attract and retain highly effective educators. The NYC Teaching Collaborative is working to overcome this challenge by providing New York City’s lowest performing schools with access to a pool of passionate teachers who have the opportunity to lead at the grassroots level, working together with the administration, school staff, and parents/community as partners in their day to day work with students.
